K-Grip® offers a breakthrough in tactile and visual slip resistant profiles, contours and logos for the Marine Industry.

K-Grip has arrived to revolutionise the concept of slip resistant profile strips for use in the Marine and allied industries. It has already been installed on Caribbean Cruise lines, a Global Marine vessel and buildings in the USA, Ireland, mainland Europe and the UK. The New York Port Authority is currently assessing K-Grip for use in all of their premises, as is the Tokyo Metro.

K-Grip is a complete anti-slip safety system, developed and manufactured in the UK by K-Grip Ltd. It is designed to fit an almost unlimited variety of applications on metal, timber, glass fibre, stone and many vinyl’s and combines an extremely robust construction with a high friction surface. The mechanical properties are virtually unaffected by heavy usage in severe conditions.

You are no longer restricted to manufactured strips and formers or paint with sand filler, which requires regular maintenance. K-Grip, is so versatile, it can be applied with a minimum of preparatory work to interior and exterior surfaces and trafficked in a few minutes with heat curing. On many vessels, areas can be closed off and the work carried out while remaining in service. K-Grip Ltd. run courses, to train operatives in the correct preparation and application of K-Grip.

Being produced in a range of colours, both solid and metallic, as well as luminous, K-Grip can be used for visual contrast and with specially prepared masking sheets, lettering, arrows and logos can be formed to indicate escape routes.

Companies and authorities will have to comply with the Disabilities Discrimination Act 1995, (M2, Section1.21 – 1.24)
and to protect their staff, passengers and visitors; K-Grip will meet the requirements, especially for visual, tactile and slip resistance on slopes and changes of level.

With a high proportion of all accidents being caused by slips, it is even more important to take every reasonable precaution to reduce liability. K-Grip has surpassed the requirements of ASTM C 1028, for slip resistance in wet and dry conditions.

K-Grip will have applications on smaller and leisure vessels, where decks and gangways become slippery. This can be of particular significance on glass fibre constructed boats, where colour matched K-Grip will blend to the deck and not change the aesthetics of the vessel.

A further development, especially applicable to leisure boats, is the ability to produce the vessel name in metallic K-Grip on the deck.
